Distributed Software System Support Engineer

We are currently seeking a Technical/Client Support Analyst to provide telephone and on-site support to Fortune 500 clients using our distributed Windows database and reporting application. This position requires some travel; otherwise candidate will work from home office. The position will focus on specific client locations, adding new responsibilities over time. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who can work independently. We will provide necessary computers, broadband hookup, and home office expenses. Training will commence within a week of hiring. Excellent starting rate, health care benefits, vacation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical/business support to business clients
  • Install and train clients on proprietary software
  • Manage clients' day to day questions, provide training, upgrades
  • Keep up to date with new products and functionality
Required Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MS Windows Server 2000, 2003
  • MS SMS 2003 installation and management
  • DBMS: SQL scripting and queries, MS SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle RDBMS
  • UNIX, Linux, UNIX scripting
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of networking hardware
  • Good organization and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with challenging clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with varying priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a group environment
